The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is a nationally recognised qualification designed to provide learners with the essential knowledge, practical skills, and confidence needed to respond effectively during emergency situations in the workplace. This course is ideal for individuals who have been appointed as workplace first aiders, as well as anyone wishing to gain valuable life-saving skills for both professional and personal use. At Bluestone GTR Training Ltd, we understand the importance of immediate and effective first aid. In emergency situations, quick action can save lives, reduce the severity of injuries, and provide reassurance until professional medical assistance arrives. Our course is delivered by experienced and qualified trainers in a professional, engaging, and supportive learning environment. The qualification meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and is suitable for low-risk workplaces. It provides employers with confidence that trained staff are capable of responding appropriately in emergency situations while helping organisations meet their legal health and safety responsibilities. During the course, learners will gain an understanding of the role and responsibilities of a first aider, including how to assess incidents safely, manage emergency situations, and communicate effectively with emergency services. Learners will also develop practical skills in assessing casualties, checking responsiveness and breathing, and responding to life-threatening conditions. Key topics covered include Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), the recovery position, choking, bleeding control, shock management, burns, minor injuries, and common medical emergencies such as seizures, asthma attacks, heart attacks, and strokes. Practical exercises and realistic scenarios are used throughout the training to help learners build confidence and apply their knowledge in real-life situations. At Bluestone GTR Training Ltd, we focus heavily on practical learning to ensure every learner leaves feeling prepared and confident to act in an emergency. The course is suitable for a wide range of industries including security, construction, hospitality, retail, offices, warehousing, and customer service environments. Upon successful completion, learners will receive a nationally recognised Emergency First Aid at Work certificate valid for three years, demonstrating their competence as an Emergency First Aider.
