Service Description

The Highfield Level 3 Award in Understanding Mental Health in the Workplace for Managers is a nationally recognised qualification designed to provide managers, supervisors and team leaders with the knowledge and understanding needed to support mental health and wellbeing within the workplace. The course is ideal for individuals with management responsibilities who want to develop awareness of mental health issues and gain practical skills to help create positive, supportive and productive working environments. Mental health can have a significant impact on employee wellbeing, attendance, performance and workplace relationships. Managers play an important role in recognising potential signs of mental health concerns and supporting individuals appropriately. Developing an understanding of mental health can help organisations reduce stigma, improve communication and promote a culture where employees feel valued and supported. Throughout the qualification, learners will gain an understanding of mental health and common factors that can affect wellbeing in the workplace. The course explores the responsibilities of managers in supporting employees and highlights how positive workplace practices can contribute to improved wellbeing and staff engagement. Learners will also develop an understanding of how to recognise possible signs of mental health difficulties, communicate effectively with employees and provide appropriate support while understanding the boundaries of their role.
